Hans Stepper’s father opened an optical shop in Stuttgart, Germany in 1936 and hence his interest in frame design. Hans believed his fusion of optical expertise, materials innovation, design flair and a belief in creating better eyewear, benefits spectacle wearers across the world. Hans together with his partner, created a company to explore Hans’s design and manufacture ideas. The first STEPPER frames were commercially available in 1970 and quickly developed an excellent reputation for fit. Not only did they feel good, but they looked good too. Their visual appeal only added to their popularity.

To assist in finding the right fit for you, STEPPER have identified frames as European Fit, Asian Fit and African Fit. All are designed to meet the fit and comfort requirements for a world of spectacle wearers. By applying innovation and technology and combining this with design skills, STEPPER aims to provide the perfect eyewear for everyone.
